The Gledhill Pulsacoils is a popular direct thermal store manufactured by Gledhill and is made from high corrosion resistant stainless steel, providing mains pressure hot water utilising off-peak electric, specifically designed for use in apartments.

It generates thermal energy with electrical immersion heaters and stores it in an internal store of water. This is an open vented thermal store meaning that the water is kept at atmospheric pressure making it one of the safest thermal stores on the market. In comparison, an unvented device can theoretically explode in extreme conditions where failure has occurred.

The Pulsacoil provides high-performance hot water for your domestic use via something called a heat exchanger. The stored heat (in the thermal store) warms the mains pressure cold water as it passes through the unit. This simple process enables a vented store of hot water to make mains pressure hot water.

Due to the open vented design of the Pulsacoil and it being inherently safe to install, it does not fall under they G3 Regulations as the only hot water under pressure is that contained within the heat exchanger.

Thermal stores do not require an annual service (unlike their unvented counterpart) this makes them a great choice for a landlord that own flats, as it reduces costs considerably because there are no requirements for an annual service and does not require a vent pipe

The Pulsacoil range of thermal stores has been around for a while now, with many of the older models not in production anymore. If you have one of the older models, Gledhill Response is the official company for PulsaCoil Repairs and can help maintain your Pulsacoild for as long as needed.

The Pulsacoil Eco is the latest model on the market which represents fantastic value for money and produces mains pressure hot water safely. It’s simple nature combined with robust built make it one of the best options on the market for a long-term low maintenance solution for hot water.
